When starting a home search, a lot of people stick to the mantra: location, location, location. This becomes even more relevant when shopping for a condominium where expectations of convenience and nearby amenities are very important.
Bluestem Townhome Condominiums resident Robyn Okaja was fixed on just that.
“For us it was a central location,” says Robyn. “My husband's family lives in Transcona and mine lives in Pembina, so (Sage Creek) was very central to the rest of the city. I can take the Perimeter to work or Bishop to get downtown. It's not far from anything.”
Sage Creek’s connection to major routes like Lagimodiere Boulevard, Regent Avenue and Bishop Grandin Boulevard are useful for making your way around the city – and also for leaving it. Cottage goers will find they have an easy exit to major highways in from Sage’s southeast location.
“It's also walking distance right to Sobeys which is great,” adds Robyn, “and we love walking through the trails – there's so much house watching and nature to see.”
In addition to the Sobeys market, the Village Center boasts a Liquor Mart, Tim Hortons, Subway, Pizza Pizza, a sushi restaurant, banks, a gas station and car wash, and various other retail services, all just a block away from Bluestem.
While the neighbourhood won Robyn over, Bluestem Townhome Condominiums, StreetSide Developments’ latest project in Sage Creek was attractive as well.
“The condo has definitely suited what we need – with two bedrooms we have lots of space, it has a single car garage, and StreetSide Developments helped us with a second spot to rent,” she says. “StreetSide is really flexible and personalized it all to make sure we got what we need. That's what we've felt through the whole process – they really made us feel like a person, not a number.”
When purchasing early during construction, Bluestem buyers get the chance to customize their townhome’s finishes with the help of an in-house designer. Future phases will come with the opportunity to select your own finishes, while the current building at Bluestem has a handful of designer-finished, move-in-ready townhomes.
In the growing but quaint community of Sage Creek, with all the amenities and trails close by, it’s easy to see why people want to buy in to the neighbourhood.
“For us what keeps us living here is the community. It's just really friendly here,” says Robyn. “Everyone wants to talk and find out more about each other.”
Plus, “unlike some other communities, it's only going to get so big. It has a really nice small-town community feel.”
Bluestem Townhome Condominiums’ move-in-ready suites start from $299,900 including GST. Visit bluestemcondos.ca for more information.
